Pool Party Games For Kids During The Warmer Weather

By Marsha Klein

Pool party games for kids are a fabulous way for the kids to enjoy the warmer weather while they get some exercise with family and friends. Planning ahead can help you to keep all of the children busy and limit the possibility of them getting bored.

While some parents will just encourage the youngsters to play the activities, it can be even more appealing to the children if there are prizes for the winners at the completion of each game. Prizes do not need to be costly to be lots of fun. Often, you can find some great choices at simple discount shops.

Though you can choose any type of prizes that you want, you might consider buying prizes that are related to water or beach fun. Swimming masks, shovels, pails, water balloons are just a few of the great things that you can use as a prize.

There are a number of different games on the market that can be played in water nowadays. Basketball is probably the most popular choice among the activities but, there is also tennis and golf among many more. These activities can be found in many different department stores at varying prices. Generally speaking, they are not too costly to purchase.

Buying rubber ducks or balls can allow you to offer a simple but, fun game. Mark each of the balls or ducks either with a color or a number to help you and the players to identify who owns which one. Instruct the children to swim as quickly as possible with the game piece. Tell the children they are not allowed to use their hands, only their feet to make the game piece move along the water.

Ice cube races are a big hit at most water themed parties and the activity is very budget friendly. Simply grab a large handful of ice cubes and toss them into the water with the children. In teams, have each of the youngsters collect as many of the ice cubes as quickly as they can before they melt. To make it even harder for them, tell them they can only use their feet to grab them.

If you are dealing with older children, they would probably enjoy water relays. The idea is pretty simple, put the children into teams and instruct them to race from one end of the pool to the other with an item of your choice. You might want them to use something like a ball, or a water noodle but, pretty much anything you can imagine will do. The first team who's members all get through the relay first wins.

Pool party games for kids should be determined based on the ages of the children who are attending the festivities. Always remember that you need to have a lot of adults present to ensure that the children are safe while they are in the water. Encourage parents to stay during the party and be sure that you do not have too many youngsters swimming at once, having too many in the water can make it much harder to watch everyone.
