When one would want to take up London yoga, he must first prepare himself both physically and mentally in order to embark on this new journey. Of course before he would take up an official class, he must do some research about what to expect when he takes it up otherwise he will become overwhelmed. For those who do not know anything about this ancient art, here are some things that may enlighten beginners.

As stated above there are so many different variations of this art that one may actually choose from. In a nutshell, there are four primary types where in the others stemmed out from. Since the popularity of these four main versions, there are many more kinds that have popped out over the years.

Hatha yoga is known to be the oldest form that was created by the first yogis of India. Now this type focuses more on meditation and breathing with less emphasis on the physical body. Since the pioneering yogis at that time wanted to become more enlightened and wanted to reach a high level of truth, they decided to create the art based just on strengthening the soul.

Of course the yogis also found the need to be able to have a physically fit body as well as a healthy mind. Which is why they came up with the Vinyasa yoga which they could practice along with the Hatha variation. Now this one includes a lot of poses which includes the very famous Sun Salutation which is known as a routine that encompasses twelve poses where one matches the movements to the breathing.

After some time, many other practitioners of Vinyasa wanted to create a more intense version of this art in order to make their body more powerful and thus Ashtanga was born. Ashtanga is the version that will appeal to a more active type of person because it includes a lot of fast movements. Basically, this form is made of a lot of hopping, lunging, and pushing.

Now from this particular version came the Iyengar variation. Like Ashtanga, Iyengar also emphasizes a lot on giving the body more power but is more focused on the alignment of the body. This is why Iyengar makes use of a lot of things like ropes and blocks in order to help with the poses.

Of course there are other types that have also appeared because of these four. The Bikram variation is a popular one because it is the one where in one would do exercises in a hot room and sweat bullets. There is also the hanging yoga which is the one where the practitioner makes use of ropes in order to do poses in mid air.

So if one is interested in London yoga, then here are some of the types that he should choose from. The one that will be chosen would be based on the body condition of the beginner as he must find one suitable for him. Once he has decided which one is best for him, then he may shoot for it.
